We are sorry to announce that Norm Patenaude was killed on Sunday, July 28, 1996 while cycling near Beaverton, Ont.
Norm Patenaude a national class runner / marathoner in the 1960's & 1970's was killed when struck by a car while cycling home to Orillia from the Lindsay 10 K Milk Run on Sunday, July 27, 1996.
Norm pioneered ultra distance running in Canada as well as organizing and race directing many road and trail races including the Ganaraska 50K / 50 Mile Ultra in Horseshoe Valley, Ont., The Voyageur Marathon in Massey, Ont. and The Twin Lakes Marathon in Orillia, Ont. Norm was also President of the Ontario Road Runners Association.
A private funeral was held on July 30, 1996.
A Memorial Service will be held in honor of Norman Patenaude on Sunday, August 11, 1996 at 3:00 PM
Bethel Baptist ChurchA memorial group run / walk will be held immediately after the service for those wishing to honor Norm.
Eulogies are welcomed, please speak to the Pastor prior to the service.
