Hosts of the 1996 Canadian Masters Marathon and Half Marathon Championships

The 2nd Annual Festival by the Sea Marathon takes place August 18, 1996 with an 8:00 a.m. start and temperatures ranging from 40°F low to 62°F high. Our event is ideal for those runners looking for a mid summer marathon without the heat.

Out-of-town guests take advantage of the August 1st pre-registration date and you will have a chance to win accommodations for two (breakfast included for three nights at the Earle of Lenster Inn - a three star bed and breakfast located three blocks from start/finish. Draw will be held August 1st at 3:00 p.m. The organizing committee assumes no responsibility for late entrants.

Experience the excitement as hundreds of entertainers sing, dance and entertain their way into your heart with up to eighty shows designed to please every taste and interest. Free daily performances take place in local parks and at various commercial venues. Evening performances are staged under the stars along the harbourfront of historic Saint John. On the final weekend, join us at Market Square for our annual Children's Festival. Two afternoons of fun and frolic, activities, face painting, clowns, treats and entertainment will delight the young and the young at heart. Celebrations run from August 9-18, 1996.
